Barcelona are stepping up their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder Rodri, with the Catalan club making a second bid after an initial offer was rejected. City value the Spain international at more than €70 million and will not sanction a cut-price departure. Enzo Maresca expects Rodri back at City by Aug. 14, amid continuing speculation over his future. Barcelona also increased their Rodri bid according to Sunday's gossip.

Tottenham captain Cristian Romero is reportedly open to joining Arsenal, but Spurs are resisting. Atletico Madrid have entered talks with Tottenham over signing Romero. The Sunday papers also report that Romero is open to Arsenal but Spurs are blocking a move.

Arsenal have completed the £75m signing of Bruno Guimarães from Newcastle, with the midfielder saying he is the club's warrior. Newcastle chief Ross Wilson said the "very emotional" Guimarães wanted the move. Analysis suggests Guimarães is a complete midfielder who will slot into Arsenal's system.

Ferran Torres has told Barcelona he wants to join Paris Saint-Germain after agreeing personal terms. The LA Galaxy have signed former Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, and also brought in 'Chucky' Lozano on an initial loan from San Diego FC. Fulham have agreed a £30m deal for Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, subject to a medical.
