Santner-David partnership powers Trent Rockets to victory

Trent Rockets pair Mitch Santner and Tim David helped steer their side into the knockout stage with a 78-run partnership in a six-wicket win over MI London, chasing 148 for a sixth win in seven matches after a shaky start that left them 70 runs down with four wickets lost.

But an unbeaten 32 off 24 deliveries from David and Santner's 23-ball 52 not out batting catapulted the Rockets to victory with 10 balls in hand. MI London were dismissed for 147-7, with Sam Curran's 72 not enough.

The Rockets extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points and hold the same advantage with a better net run-rate over fourth-placed Welsh Fire, who have two games to play. MI London lost opener James Vince and Nicholas Pooran quickly, and although Sam Curran smashed 72, their 147-7 was not enough. Trent Rocks' Sam Billings criticised a confrontation with Richard Gleeson, saying he did not like the behaviour after his wicket was taken.

The Hundred continues on Sunday with four matches at Headingley and Lord’s. Sun Risers Leeds host Welsh Fire, while London Spirit take on Birmingham Phoenix, both already eliminated from the women’s and men’s competitions. All matches can be watched on NOW.
