England striker Ivan Toney has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm after a nightclub incident in December 2025. He will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday September 24.

The alleged assault took place on Wardour Street in London, and the case comes just two days before England face World Cup winners Spain in a Nations League match at Wembley.

Ivan Toney, who is 30 years old and plays for Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, was a surprise inclusion in Thomas Tuchel's squad this summer, featuring in the semi‑final against Argentina and starting the third‑place play‑off win over France. He joined Al Ahli in August 2024 for £40m after a 72‑goal spell at Brentford. He missed the first half of the 2023/24 season due to a gambling ban but later helped England reach the Euro 2024 final.

A spokesperson said he acknowledges the charge and looks forward to clearing his name in court. The Saudi Pro League season begins on August 13, and the charge relates to an assault that reportedly occurred during a night out.
