Erling Haaland scored the winning goal in Manchester City's 5-3 victory over Sunderland, securing a unique Premier League milestone. The Norwegian striker found the net in the 81st minute, a goal initially ruled offside but overturned by VAR. This strike marked his first goal against Sunderland, ending a personal goalless streak from two matches last season.

With this achievement, Haaland has now scored against all 25 clubs he has faced in the Premier League for City. His fifth goal of the season places him at the top of the Golden Boot race, ahead of Alexander Isak, who trails with four. Anthony Brobbey delivered a hat trick for Sunderland, becoming the first player to score three and lose since Roque Santa Cruz in 2007.

Enzo Fernandez, Rayan Cherki, and Antoine Semenyo also contributed to City's scoring. Manager Enzo Maresca secured his fifth consecutive Premier League win to start his tenure. Brobbey also became the fourth player in Premier League history to score a hat trick against the league leader.

Jermain Defoe last achieved a Sunderland hat trick over a decade ago.
