Newcastle United have rejected an initial enquiry from Manchester United for left-back Lewis Hall, stating the 21-year-old is not for sale this summer.

Manchester United have long admired Hall as a potential long-term successor to Luke Shaw, whose contract expires in a year. With Tyrell Malacia having departed on a free transfer, United are short of senior options at left-back.

Hall has three years remaining on his Newcastle contract. Despite United's interest, Newcastle are themselves in the market to add another full-back. Sky Sports News' Danyal Khan noted that while Newcastle would be reluctant to lose Hall, the player is no longer seen as irreplaceable at St. James' Park.

United continue to assess their options this summer, with an additional midfielder also being considered.
