Algeria, Morocco, Cameroon, and Malawi have qualified for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil via the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon). Algeria secured its spot with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast, featuring goals from Ines Khiri and Amira Ould Braham after a red card. Morocco defeated South Africa 2-1, while Cameroon edged Nigeria 1-0 via a 30-yard free-kick by Myriam Nyadjou. Malawi, ranked 153rd globally, shocked Ghana 2-1 with goals from Temwa Chawinga and Rose Kadzere.

The Wafcon semi-finals will feature Morocco vs. Cameroon and Algeria vs. Malawi. Teams eliminated in the quarter-finals (Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, South Africa) still have a path through November-December intercontinental play-offs. Three of 10 play-off nations will qualify, alongside 18 already confirmed. Europe’s five nations (England, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland) must win two legs in October-December play-offs.
