Michael Brennan secured his place in the FedEx Cup Playoffs by winning the Wyndham Championship, finishing three strokes ahead of Beau Hossler.

Brennan produced a run of five straight birdies between holes four and eight, then recovered from a bogey on the 11th by adding extra strokes on the 13th and 18th. He saved par on the 17th after an early rough mishap, sealing a decisive lead.

Hossler, who shared the overnight lead, opened with a birdie on the third and an eagle on the fifth but bogeyed the ninth and twelfth, allowing Brennan to surge forward.

After the win, Brennan reflected on his steady play: "I felt really good on the front nine… I think I'm going to be perfectly happy running on fumes next week." England’s Harry Hall finished with a 65, sharing fifth place.
