Arsenal step up pre-season preparations as they face Borussia Dortmund in the Emirates Cup at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners have been bolstered by the £75m signing of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle, though the midfielder won't feature in today's match and is set to be presented to fans before kick-off.

Martin Odegaard returns to captain the side for the first time since the World Cup break, with Gabriel Magalhaes also starting in defence. Myles Lewis-Skelly joins midfield alongside Odegaard and Kai Havertz, while Viktor Gyokeres leads the line. Teenage prospect Max Dowman and new signing Christos Tzolis also feature in the starting XI.

Several World Cup stars remain absent including Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, Mikel Merino, Martin Zubimendi and David Raya, but are expected back next week.

With less than two weeks before the Community Shield against Manchester City and their Premier League title defence opener against Coventry, Arteta's squad continues to rebuild toward full strength.
