After a 3-1 win over Atlético Madrid in Seoul, Enzo Maresca confirmed that Rodri is expected to return to Manchester City on August 14. The 30‑year‑old midfielder, who won the Ballon d’Or and helped Spain lift the World Cup, is in the final year of his contract and recovered from back surgery that could delay his season start.

City zwembad rejected a €50 million bid from Barcelona, and the club indicates they would only consider a transfer if offers reach around €80 million سعود. Real Madrid has also shown interest, but City has no intention of selling unless the price aligns with the club’s valuation.

Maresca said he had no updates from director of football Hugo Viana and that Rodri will be in Manchester for the upcoming Community Shield against Arsenal. City’s manager will miss the first Premier League match on Aug 23 as Pep Guardiola steps down.

The club is preparing accelerated training after the Seoul victory, where Omar Marmoush and Rayan Aït‑Nouri scored critical goals to secure the win.
