Red Sox Keep Rolling

The Red Sox rallied for a wild 12-11 win over the White Sox in 13 innings, extending their winning streak to eight games. Sonny Gray earned his AL-leading 14th win with three-hit ball and eight strikeouts over six innings in a 4-0 victory Wednesday night. The surging club also acquired Adley Rutschman from Baltimore in the biggest of their deadline moves. Rutschman said he is trying to fit in with a team that has been on a roll. Triston Casas underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left wrist, landing him back on the injured list. Red Sox ace Garrett Crochet, who hasn't pitched since late April, says he's open to a relief role if he can return.

Dodgers Go All-In on Skubal

The Dodgers acquired Tarik Skubal and he made his pitching debut against the Cubs. The two-time Cy Young winner didn't have his stuff in the loss, landing only 51 strikes on 85 pitches with little run support. Skubal said he doesn't sympathize with people who blame the Dodgers, noting "every team could trade for me." The trade boosted Los Angeles' odds for the World Series, putting them way ahead of the Yankees on the betting board.

Braves Sweep Marlins

Ronald Acuña Jr. hit two home runs, including one assisted by a Miami outfield miscue, as Atlanta beat the Marlins 11-3 to complete a three-game sweep. Despite facing criticism for failing to land a top-line starter at the deadline, Bryce Elder and Grant Holmes have pitched like the team didn't need one.

Cleveland called up top prospect Angel Genao, who has a .309 average at Triple-A Columbus. George Lombard Jr. homered in his Yankees debut, becoming the third-youngest Yankee to do so.
