Sources told ESPN that Peralta arranged the June meeting to help the two stars work through their disconnect. Since then, the relationship between the two has been noticeably warmer, with the players interacting more frequently.

While Lindor and Soto have both downplayed the significance of the meeting, Mets owner Steve Cohen confirmed that the stars' relationship was previously an issue but has since improved. The tension had been a topic of speculation following Soto's record-breaking $765 million contract and perceived frosty interactions on social media.

Despite the improved clubhouse chemistry, the Mets' season has been derailed by injuries and underperformance. Following a failure to reach the postseason, the roster underwent a massive transformation under President of Baseball Operations David Stearns, leading to the trade of several veterans and the eventual departure of Peralta to Tampa Bay.
