Longtime San Francisco Giants broadcaster and former major league pitcher Mike Krukow announced his retirement, effective at the end of the current season. The 74-year-old expressed gratitude to fans and his wife, Jennifer, for their support throughout his nearly four-decade career.

Despite facing a degenerative muscle disease that has slowed him and limited his travel, Krukow, alongside broadcast partner Duane Kuiper, continued to call games with insight and humor. He was a key part of the Giants' World Series championship broadcasts in 2010, '12, and '14.

Giants President and CEO Larry Baer called Krukow a "spiritual leader" and thanked him for his contributions. The club will celebrate Krukow's career on September 27 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Oracle Park. Krukow, an All-Star in 1986, posted a 124-117 career record over 14 seasons.
