St. Louis Cardinals All-Star right fielder Jordan Walker was scratched from the starting lineup Tuesday night against the New York Yankees due to right knee inflammation. Walker, slated to bat second, was replaced by Nelson Velazquez in right field, with Ivan Herrera moving up to second in the batting order.

Walker is hitting .285 with 22 homers and 81 RBIs this season. He won the All-Star Home Run Derby last month in Philadelphia by defeating Kyle Schwarber in the final round but has struggled since, with no home runs in his last 18 games.

The 24-year-old Walker, who debuted in 2023, hit .276 in 117 games but batted .211 over the next two seasons. He hit .294 with 22 homers and 74 RBIs in the first half of 2026 but is batting .240 in 18 games since the break.
