Fernando Mendoza will get plenty of reps in the Raiders' preseason opener Thursday, coach Klint Kubiak said. Jordan Love is expected to play in the Packers' first preseason game but will remain cautious after last season's thumb injury. Jalen Hurts is drawing rave reviews for his increased speed, with Eagles defenders calling it "like a movie." Teddy Bridgewater announced his retirement is "official" this time via Instagram. Jared Goff keeps the Lions offense pulling in the same direction without distraction, earning praise from coach Dan Campbell. Injury Report

Myles Garrett missed the Rams' joint practice with the Cowboys due to knee swelling, while Puka Nacua left early with minor groin soreness. Nate Wiggins injured his leg in practice, but Ravens coach Jesse Minter expressed optimism. Coby Bryant underwent knee surgery and will miss four to six months. Nick Emmanwori passed his physical and is set to come off the PUP list for the Seahawks. Qwan'tez Stiggers collapsed during a joint practice and was hospitalized. Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan could miss the start of the regular season with a hamstring injury. Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce remains sidelined after ankle surgery, though the GM says he's in good shape. Eagles OLB Jonathan Greenard will miss at least another couple of weeks with a pectoral injury.
