Teddy Bridgewater said this time his decision to retire is sticking. He announced Monday, a day after the Lions placed him on the reserve/retired list. "This time it's official," he wrote on Instagram. \n\nBridgewater, 33, retired after the 2023 season only to return to the Lions late in the following campaign. His retirement comes 10 years after a devastating knee injury with the Vikings that threatened his career. "We really showed them by playing 10 more seasons!" he wrote. "This wheel of mine can no longer deal with standing on the turf." \n\nHe finishes with 15,182 yards passing, 75 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions.

Lions coach Dan Campbell praised him: "The human being is unbelievable." Before his 2024 return, Bridgewater coached his high school to a state title but was suspended for providing impermissible benefits. This led to Florida's "Teddy Bridgewater Act," signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis, allowing coaches to help players with expenses.
