Families have written to US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy requesting Boeing 787 simulator test results, arguing findings suggest the Ram Air Turbine deployed many seconds before fuel supply cut out. Law firm Beasley Allen contends the turbine may be unrelated to fuel system changes and instead a symptom of prior faults. Federation of Indian Pilots president C S Randhawa insists investigators focus on fuel control switches is the wrong direction.

Even if electrical failure contributed, former NTSB lead investigator Jeff Guzzetti says it opens questions of design, maintenance, installation, or manufacturing issues. Honeywell and Boeing face legal action over the crash. Authorities aim to release a final definitive report by October.
