Green Bay Packers special teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia has stepped down after four seasons with the team, marking the second coordinator departure this offseason. Bisaccia, 65, announced his decision Tuesday evening, ending a tenure that included both successes and persistent struggles on special teams.

Bisaccia joined the Packers in 2022 to fix a problematic unit that had suffered a blocked field goal and punt in a playoff loss the previous season. While he helped develop standout performers like punter Daniel Whelan, who set franchise records for gross and net punting average, and All-Pro kick returner Keisean Nixon, the unit continued to struggle with costly mistakes. The Packers experienced multiple special teams failures this past season, including blocked kicks and failed onside attempts.

General manager Brian Gutekunst had expressed desire for Bisaccia's return earlier this month, praising his cultural impact and recent improvements. However, Bisaccia said he had contemplated leaving after last season, feeling he had "failed" head coach Matt LaFleur at times. His departure creates another significant vacancy for the Packers, who have now lost both their defensive coordinator to the Dolphins and their special teams coordinator in a tumultuous offseason.
