Clemson University has hired Rich Bisaccia as its new special teams coordinator, marking the former Green Bay Packers coach's return to his alma mater. The 65-year-old Bisaccia previously worked at Clemson from 1994-98 coaching running backs and special teams before embarking on a successful NFL career spanning over two decades.

Bisaccia stepped down from his role with the Packers in mid-February after four seasons, telling reporters he had taken time to reflect on his future. His hiring was officially approved by Clemson's Board of Trustees compensation committee this week. Tigers coach Dabo Swinney praised Bisaccia as "as good a special teams coach as there has been in the NFL for a long, long time."

The move reunites Bisaccia with Swinney, who said they had discussed potential collaboration multiple times over the years. Bisaccia's extensive NFL experience includes special teams coordinator positions with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Chargers, Dallas Cowboys, and Raiders, plus a 7-6 record as Las Vegas' interim head coach in 2021.
