After confirming their request, Djokovic engaged the crowd before reading the paper, which was lowered to him. He announced that the baby would be a girl, prompting cheers from onlookers. Djokovic then offered well wishes to the parents.

The interaction reportedly occurred in early March at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The couple later confirmed their daughter was born on July 7, the same day Djokovic played a match at Wimbledon. In addition to the reveal, Djokovic provided the couple with a signed memento of the paper he read from, inscribed with "Dr. Novak Djokovic approved" and "Congratulations."
