A’s shortstop Jacob Wilson set an MLB record for his position Sunday, playing his 111th consecutive errorless game, surpassing former Orioles infielder Mike Bordick. Meanwhile, two-time All-Star and former batting champion Tim Anderson announced his retirement Monday after 10 major league seasons.

U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal and two House representatives urged MLB to ban betting promos featuring players, citing a video that used Phillies star Bryce Harper’s personalized greeting. In a bizarre moment during Monday’s Mets game, rookie Carson Benge tossed the ball that Kodai Senga used for his first career save into the crowd, leaving Senga aghast.
