Barring rainouts, the World Series will end in October for just the second time since 2020. The Fall Classic starts on Oct. 23 and Game 7 would be on Oct. 31, Major League Baseball announced Monday.

The series has previously extended into November in 2001, 2009, 2010, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2025, with 2022 reaching Nov. 5.

The postseason format, unchanged since 2022, features twelve teams. Top two teams in each league receive first‑round byes, while seeds 3 vs. 6 and 4 vs. 5 play best‑of‑three Wild Card Series. Division Series are best‑of‑five, and each league’s championship series is best‑of‑seven.

The AL Division Series and NL Division Series commence Oct. 3. The NLCS starts Oct. 11, followed by the ALCS on Oct. 12. The schedule allows teams to recover four days of rest between games, with extra off days in the AL Division Series.
