Arizona Diamondbacks shortstop Geraldo Perdomo exited Monday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies before the fifth inning due to left knee soreness, manager Torey Lovullo said the injury isn’t serious.

Perdomo lunge toward first base in Sunday’s win over the Dodgers, woke with soreness on Monday, and Lovullo opted to remove him after the D‑backs built a 7‑0 lead abyss.

"He’s a 50‑50 ball tomorrow. We might give him a rest tomorrow or the next day," Lovullo explained. The 26‑year‑old, batting .245 with nine homers, 42 RBIs and 17 stolen bases, has played 116 of 120 games this season and posted solid defense at shortstop.

Perdomo said he wasn’t worried, calling it "just sore" and that an MRI was unnecessary at the moment. He was replaced by Ildemaro Vargas, who started a double play to close the game. The D‑backs finished a 9‑0 win.
