Crystal Palace are close to signing Khalaili from Union SG for a reported fee. The Eagles have also agreed a McNeil-Johnson swap with Everton, sending Dwight McNeil to Goodison Park while Brennan Johnson moves to Selhurst Park – a deal confirmed by both Everton and Palace swap sources. Palace are also keen to offload Johnson after an underwhelming spell, with the winger costing £35M and scoring zero goals. Meanwhile, Wrexham are closing in on Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson for a reported £8M, confirmed by a Patterson deal. Rangers chairman Andrew Cavanagh expects three to five more signings before the window closes, while midfielder Diomande is set for a £4.5M move to a Turkish club. The Ibrox side have also rejected a bid for striker Chermiti. In England, Ipswich's approach to the transfer market is a global gamble as they prepare for Premier League return. Villa are interested in a loan move for Real Madrid’s Endrick, while Man United are targeting young stars Joaquin Seys and Louis Page. Seys is also being chased by Arsenal. Hogh's hat-trick silenced early critics as Celtic eased past hapless Kilmarnock. Rangers remain winless under Derek McInnes after a 2-1 home loss to Hibernian, with an injury-time winner from Hibs. Messi missed Inter Miami's Leagues Cup loss to Monterrey following his father's death. A Brazilian player fell down a tunnel during a goal celebration in Coritiba's win. Coritiba also wore the name of an English fan with MND on their shirts. Núñez prematurely announced Ronald Araújo's move to Liverpool before the club confirmed it. Coleman has been training with Killybegs but a GAA return is unlikely. The EFL Cup second-round draw takes place tonight, with 11 Premier League teams entering.
