RPCS3 Won't Touch Leaked DLSS 5

The RPCS3 team has made it clear they will not incorporate leaked DLSS 5 into their PS3 emulator. Responding to questions on X, they stated they have seen the output from a leaked DLL and want no part of it, calling it "slop" that "hallucinates games and hides lack of optimization."

While modders test DLSS 5 on emulators like PCSX2, RPCS3 prioritizes preservation and refuses to alter games with generative neural rendering. This stance follows their earlier addition of AMD's FSR upscaling, suggesting the issue is not upscaling generally but specifically DLSS 5's AI-driven frame generation.

The leaked DLL, originally from an NBA 2K27 build, has been patched into several PC games with inconsistent results. RPCS3 remains focused on accurate hardware emulation rather than applying external enhancements that compromise their preservation mission.

The team emphasized their commitment to purity in emulation, stating they do not ship any upscalers or frame generation tools that mask underlying performance issues. Their position reflects a broader debate about authenticity in game preservation versus modern graphical enhancements.
