Injuries and Roster Moves

The injury bug continues to bite across MLB. Hunter Greene will undergo season-ending elbow surgery for a partially torn ligament and is expected to miss at least the 2026 season. Matt Chapman will also go under the knife, with season-ending abdominal surgery scheduled for Tuesday. Nathan Eovaldi landed on the 15-day IL with elbow inflammation, while Jameson Taillon exited his first home start for Toronto after four scoreless innings due to right forearm discomfort and is set for an MRI. Nick Kurtz may miss the rest of the season with a right thumb injury. Kyle Karros was placed on the seven-day concussion IL by the Rockies. Devin Williams is on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder strain, though the Mets do not expect a long-term absence. Griffin Jax went on the IL with right elbow discomfort.
