Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodón is scheduled to make his second minor league rehabilitation start Thursday night for Double-A Somerset. Rodón has been on the 15-day injured list since July 3 due to left elbow inflammation. He recently threw 29 of 48 pitches for strikes during his first rehab outing for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Manager Aaron Boone suggested Rodón could return in a piggyback situation.

Regarding the injury-depleted lineup, Boone stated All-Star left fielder Cody Bellinger is "getting close" to returning from a left hamstring strain. Bellinger has been working in the outfield and is reportedly at over 90% of his normal top speed. Following Bellinger, Boone expects the return of Giancarlo Stanton and then Aaron Judge, who was cleared last week for light workout activity.

Currently, the Yankees lead the American League wild-card standings, sitting six games behind the Tampa Bay Rays in the AL East. The team also placed reliever Kervin Castro on the 15-day injured list due to right elbow neuritis, calling up Bradley Hanner from Triple-A.
