Injury News

The injury bug continues to bite across MLB. Hunter Greene will have season-ending elbow surgery for a partially torn UCL, sidelining the Reds right-hander at least through 2026. Matt Chapman is also done for the year after undergoing abdominal surgery Tuesday. Nathan Eovaldi landed on the 15-day IL with elbow inflammation, a blow to the Rangers’ rotation. Nick Kurtz may miss the rest of the season with a right thumb issue, while Kyle Stowers went on the 10-day IL with a hamstring strain. Devin Williams landed on the 15-day IL with a right shoulder strain, and Griffin Jax is out with elbow discomfort. Caleb Kilian strained his left oblique and went on the IL. Trey Yesavage had knee surgery but isn’t ruled out for the season, while Jameson Taillon will have an MRI on his forearm after leaving his Blue Jays debut early. Geraldo Perdomo exited with knee soreness, but the D-backs don’t believe it is serious. Cooper Pratt is on the IL with a strained hamstring, testing Brewers infield depth. Bryce Harper is battling knee soreness since shifting back to right field, while Paul Skenes was lifted after 65 pitches amid velocity concerns. Jose Altuve exited after being hit on the foot, but imaging was negative.

Pitching Highlights

Blake Snell returned to the Dodgers with “electric stuff,” striking out 10 in six innings after three months out. Max Scherzer moved into 10th all time in strikeouts (3,516) after fanning four for the Blue Jays. Chris Sale was ejected before throwing a pitch Sunday, still fuming over a balk call, but Atlanta won 2-1. Tarik Skubal struggled in his Dodger Stadium debut as Los Angeles rallied for a 6-5 win. Carlos Rodón is set for a second minor league rehab start, and Cody Bellinger is also nearing a return. The Diamondbacks added Michael Soroka from the IL and signed Zack Littell.
