Trent Rockets secured their second victory in The Hundred women's competition, defeating Welsh Fire by eight wickets in Cardiff. After restricting Fire to 129-3, Rockets comfortably chased down the target, with Beth Mooney leading the charge.

Mooney, opening alongside Sophia Dunkley, formed a crucial 73-run partnership, with Mooney herself striking a rapid half-century. She was eventually dismissed for 57 off 35 balls, but not before setting a strong foundation. Nat Sciver-Brunt, in her first match of the campaign, then guided Rockets to victory with an unbeaten 37, ensuring the team reached the target with 17 balls remaining.

Earlier, Welsh Fire had a slow start, losing openers Georgia Voll and Ella Mc Caughan early. They were 41-2 at the halfway stage. Sophie Devine was instrumental in their recovery, scoring 38 from 25 balls, while Freya Kemp remained not out on 36. Georgia Wareham also contributed a quick 19 off 10 balls, helping Fire post a competitive 129.
