Saltburn Cricket Club's second team match against Marton has been conceded due to the club being unable to field a team, citing the "holiday season". This follows an investigation launched by the North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League into alleged cheating during a previous match.

The controversy centers on Saltburn batter Brian Devine, who is accused of clicking his finger as the ball passed the bat of Norton batter Noman Shabir, leading to a caught-out decision. Footage of the incident has circulated widely online, with Devine reportedly nicknamed 'Clicky Ponting'.

Since the initial video gained traction, other clips alleging similar behavior involving Devine and Saltburn have emerged. A meeting involving Saltburn, the league, and legal representatives took place, but outcomes remain undisclosed. The league, Saltburn, Norton, and the England and Wales Cricket Board have declined to comment.
