Saltburn Cricket Club has suspended a player at the center of 'Clicky Ponting' cheating allegations and will forfeit their upcoming match against Marton Cricket Club. The North Yorkshire and South Durham Cricket League is investigating after viral footage showed a fielder allegedly clicking his fingers to mimic an edge off the bat.

The incident, which occurred during a Division Two match against Norton Cricket Club, has garnered over 7.5 million views online. Saltburn CC stated they are treating the allegation with utmost seriousness and are fully cooperating with the league's investigation. The suspended player will not play for the club again this season or in the foreseeable future, pending the investigation's outcome.

The league confirmed a formal complaint has been received, and a full investigation has been initiated. Saltburn CC currently leads the Division Two table. England cricketer Tom Banton commented that while the alleged tactic is "kind of clever," it is "not acceptable" and likely outside the rules of cricket.
