Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has been loaned to Dutch club Ajax for the 2026-27 season, with an option for a permanent transfer next summer. The Nigeria international's move follows a reported incident where he allegedly refused to leave a Wolves training session, an accusation he denied, stating his commitment to professional conduct.

Arokodare, 25, joined Wolves from Genk in September 2025 for £24m after a prolific spell in Belgium. However, his time in the Premier League was less successful, scoring only three goals in 33 appearances as Wolves were relegated. He also faced disciplinary action in April after a confrontation with teammate Mateus Mane.

Ajax, who finished fifth in the Eredivisie last season, will compete in the Europa Conference League this season, contingent on qualifying through play-offs. This loan move presents a fresh start for Arokodare in the Dutch league.
