England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt will sit out the first two matches of The Hundred for Trent Rockets to manage her workload. The 33-year-old has been dealing with a calf issue since April, which impacted her participation in earlier international series and the T20 World Cup, where she played as a specialist batter.

Her injury caused her to miss England's early series against New Zealand and India, and three T20 World Cup group games. Despite this, she played as a batter in the tournament, where England reached the final but lost to Australia. England's next international engagement is a three-match ODI series against Ireland starting September 1.

Trent Rockets are scheduled to play their opening Hundred match against Birmingham Phoenix on Friday at 15:00 BST, followed by a game against London Spirit on Sunday. Sciver-Brunt previously captained the Rockets but relinquished the role in 2025 after becoming England captain. Her wife, Katherine Sciver-Brunt, was recently appointed as the Rockets' assistant coach.
