Halal Shack, headquartered in Albany, New York, operates four fast-casual restaurant brands serving more than 75 locations across 60-plus college campuses nationwide. Tamarix Equity Partners has made an undisclosed equity investment in the platform. Founded in 2017 by Jamal Rasoully, Halal Shack includes Jamal's Chicken, Baba's Pizza, and Damor Chai Café alongside its namesake concept.

Mark Hauser, managing partner at Tamarix, stated the firm is pleased to partner with Rasoully to assist in growing the business. Jay Sprague, principal at Tamarix, said the firm plans to expand Halal Shack and its brands across higher education and other channels. Deloitte Corporate Finance served as exclusive financial adviser to Halal Shack.
