College Basketball

West Virginia avenged two regular-season losses to TCU by beating the reigning Big 12 tournament champion 62-53 in the conference title game. UCLA rolled past Iowa 96-45 to win its second straight Big Ten tournament crown behind Gianna Kneepkens' 19 points and Kiki Rice's 15 points with eight assists. Northern Iowa defeated UIC 84-69 to win the Missouri Valley Conference tournament and earn an automatic NCAA bid. Queens University secured an NCAA berth in its first year of eligibility with Chris Ashby's 34-point performance featuring 10 3-pointers in a 98-93 win over Central Arkansas.

Texas sprinted to a 14-0 lead against South Carolina en route to the Longhorns' first women's SEC tournament title with Madison Booker scoring 18 points. Duke rallied to beat Louisville 70-65 in overtime for its second straight women's Atlantic Coast Conference tournament title. Georgia Tech has fired Damon Stoudamire after a last-place finish in his third season as men's basketball coach. Boston College fired Earl Grant ending his five-year run at the school.

Golf

Akshay Bhatia beat fellow American Daniel Berger on the first sudden death play-off hole to win the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill in Orlando. Charlotte Bankes claimed victory in the women's snowboard cross at a World Cup event in Erzurum, Turkey. Jacob Kiplimo regained the world half-marathon record with a victory in Lisbon.

Hockey

Ireland clinched a place in the Hockey World Cup finals with a dramatic shootout win over Japan to finish third at the qualification tournament in Santiago. England's men won their Hockey World Cup qualification tournament with a 4-1 victory over Pakistan in the final in Egypt.

Tennis

Emma Raducanu was overpowered by sixth seed Amanda Anisimova at Indian Wells, losing 6-1 6-1 in a third-round encounter lasting just 52 minutes. Sonay Kartal saved a match point and took a medical timeout before battling to a 6-1 3-6 7-6 (7-2) victory in her second round match against Emma Navarro at Indian Wells.

Football

England's Ben Earl defended Steve Borthwick's record as head coach following their defeat by Italy and claimed that "large parts of the performance were brilliant." Nathan Doak said his Ireland debut came "at the right time" when introduced off the bench in Friday's hard-fought 27-17 win over Wales at the Aviva Stadium. Andy Farrell said there is a great sense of solidarity in the Ireland squad as they prepare for a Triple Crown decider against Scotland in Dublin. Matt Dawson discussed England's historic first loss to Italy and why they need to play with more freedom against France.

UFC/MMA

Charles Oliveira dominated Max Holloway from start to finish to win the BMF title by unanimous decision at UFC 326 in Las Vegas. Ilia Topuria will face Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title bout headlining the UFC's White House event on June 14. Alex Pereira and Ciryl Gane will vie for the interim heavyweight championship on the same card. Jon Jones was "never ever" in Dana White's mind for the White House card, according to White.

Rugby

Leicester Tigers overpowered defending champions Bath to set up a Prem Rugby Cup final meeting with Exeter at Welford Road. Exeter scored four tries as they beat Northampton Saints 31-14 at Sandy Park to reach the Prem Rugby Cup final. Hull KR got up and running in 2026 with a 32-6 victory at winless Huddersfield Giants.

Other Sports

Jeremy Fears Jr. received another technical foul for a kick toward a player's groin area. Emanuel Perathoner won Paralympic gold at his home Games after competing at two Olympics for Italy and suffering a devastating knee injury. Mared Griffiths shone as Wales got a glimpse of the future during their thumping World Cup qualifying win over Montenegro. Brett Randell became the first bowler in the 254-year history of first-class cricket to take five wickets in five balls.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander moved to within two games of breaking a decades-old NBA record as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Golden State Warriors. Luke Littler successfully defended his UK Open title, beating James Wade in the final in Minehead. Arvid Lindblad said he "showed people a bit of what I am here to do" after finishing eighth on his F1 debut at the Australian Grand Prix.
