Apple expands its health toolkit across continents, pushing new features to AirPods Pro and Apple Watch users worldwide. The company rolled out Hearing Aid for Italian listeners, hypertension alerts for Taiwanese users, and two fresh tools for India: a Hearing Test and sleep apnea notifications. Each rollout follows strict regulatory checks.

The Hearing Aid feature, exclusive to AirPods Pro 2 and 3, lets users calibrate sound levels and receive updates via the Health app. Hypertension notifications require Apple Watch Series 9 or newer, or Ultra 2, and alert wearers when systolic or diastolic readings rise beyond safe thresholds. These capabilities aim to catch early warning signs for long‑term health.

India’s rollout marks the biggest expansion yet, adding two diagnostics that leverage existing Apple hardware. The Hearing Test pairs with AirPods Pro 2/3 to measure hearing thresholds, while sleep apnea alerts trigger when the watch detects abnormal breathing patterns. Together, they broaden Apple’s preventive health strategy across 160‑plus regions for every user worldwide.

Greg Joswiak, Apple’s SVP of Marketing, highlighted the move on X, stressing that health features now reach 160+ countries. The company’s gradual rollout reflects regulatory hurdles, but the new tools empower users to monitor conditions early, potentially reducing hospital visits and long‑term treatment costs. Apple’s focus on health signals a broader shift toward wellness tech.
