Strava is completely overhauling its strength training experience with dedicated tools for logging sets, reps, weight, and muscle groups. The update addresses one of the platform's fastest-growing activity categories, which saw over 500 million uploads in 2025 alone. Previously, strength training had limited functionality compared to running and cycling features.

The new workout log allows users to dynamically record exercise metrics while automatically generating visual muscle maps. Five new strength-specific sharing formats let athletes celebrate lifts and progress with their network. These tools bring the same depth and shareability that made Strava popular for cardio activities.

Matt Salazar, Strava's Chief Product Officer, said the community demanded better strength training support. The overhaul includes 14 partner integrations spanning major fitness platforms like Garmin, Fitbod, WHOOP, and 24 Hour Fitness. This represents a strategic shift toward comprehensive fitness tracking beyond Strava's traditional running and cycling focus.

The updated strength experience launches globally in the coming weeks. For the platform's nearly 200 million users, this means professional-grade strength training tools integrated directly into their existing fitness ecosystem.
