Samsung unveiled a new Odyssey gaming monitor lineup at Gamescom, headlined by the 27-inch Odyssey G6, which boasts a world-first 1,100Hz refresh rate. While that speed is beyond human perception, it's aimed at hardcore esports. The G6 offers a 1ms response time and requires 1080p for maximum refresh; dropping to 600Hz enables 1440p via Dual Mode. It features an IPS display and arrives in the second half of 2026, with pricing still unannounced.

Also new is the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8, a 4K monitor with switchable refresh rates: 360Hz at 4K, 520Hz at 1440p, and 680Hz at 1080p. It supports FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync, plus Samsung's Glare Free anti-reflection coating. No price or release date has been shared yet.

Rounding out the lineup is the 49-inch Odyssey OLED G9, a DQHD (5,120 x 1,440) curved monitor with a 360Hz refresh rate, or 720Hz in Dual HD mode (2,560 x 720). It uses a QD-OLED Penta Tandem panel with 1,300 nits peak brightness. Availability and pricing remain unknown.

These monitors continue Samsung's trend of pushing extreme specs, though practical benefits for most gamers remain debatable. The focus is clearly on high-end enthusiasts and competitive players.
