Xiaomi unveiled the 17 Max, the fourth model in its 17 lineup, positioning it as a less flashy sibling to the 17 Pro Max. The phone trades a secondary rear screen for a 200MP primary sensor and packs a massive 8,000 mAh silicon‑carbon battery. A 6.9‑inch AMOLED panel delivers 2,608 × 1,200 resolution, 120 Hz refresh and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness.

Power management centers on Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SOC, paired with up to 16 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB UFS 4.1 storage. Xiaomi claims over two days of typical use, and the battery retains 80 % capacity after 1,600 charge cycles—roughly four years of daily charging. Wired fast charging reaches 100 W, wireless hits 50 W, and reverse charging supplies 22.5 W to accessories.

The 17 Max arrives in black, white and blue, priced in China at CNY 4,799 for the 12/256 GB variant and CNY 5,799 for the top‑end 16/512 GB model—about $705 and $853 respectively. Full IP68 and IP69 protection, a 32 MP punch‑hole selfie lens and an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor round out the package. Xiaomi targets power‑hungry users who prioritize camera resolution and endurance, delivering a flagship that rivals premium competitors on paper.
