Xiaomi 17T Pro Review: Camera and Battery Beast for 2026

The Xiaomi 17T Pro delivers impressive camera and battery performance, positioning itself as a compelling alternative to pricier flagships. At €899 for the base model, it costs more than last year's 15T Pro but undercuts competitors like the Vivo X300 FE and Find X9 Ultra. The phone targets users who want flagship features without paying premium prices.

Under the hood, Xiaomi packed a massive 7,000mAh silicon battery alongside MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500 chipset. The 6.83-inch AMOLED display maintains the same 2772 x 1280 resolution and 120Hz refresh rate as its predecessor, while IP68 protection and Gorilla Glass 7i provide durability. The phone lasts two days with moderate use and charges completely in under 45 minutes with the bundled 100W charger.

Camera performance remains strong despite reusing similar hardware from last year. The 50MP main sensor (now called Light Fusion 950) handles daylight and challenging lighting well, producing good dynamic range and vibrant colors. The 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom delivers excellent shots, though the 115mm focal length isn't ideal for portraits. The ultrawide camera lags behind competitors.

Despite some design quirks and software shortcomings, the 17T Pro offers genuine value in the premium segment. Xiaomi's decision to raise prices across its lineup makes this phone less compelling than last year's model, but the combination of exceptional battery life, solid performance, and capable cameras makes it worth considering for budget-conscious buyers who still want flagship capabilities.

The phone's USB 2.0 connectivity instead of USB 3.2 becomes problematic with emerging XR accessories, and the fingerprint sensor placement remains awkwardly low on the display. Still, the 17T Pro provides five years of software updates and handles sustained gaming without overheating like Qualcomm alternatives.
