POWEV, a sub‑brand of Jiahe Jinwei, has stepped into the DDR5 arena with a line that includes UDIMM, SODIMM, and RDIMM modules. The new kits reach up to 64 GB per stick and run at 4,800 MT/s or 5,600 MT/s, offering a fresh domestic option for Chinese data centers and PC builders.

Each module operates at a steady 1.2 V and delivers non‑ECC unbuffered memory for consumer boards while RDIMMs add registered ECC for server workloads. The company splits its products into “pure domestic” and industrial lines, hinting at a strategy to cater to both DIY enthusiasts and enterprise deployments.

With China still constrained by limited access to cutting‑edge fab equipment, POWEV’s entry expands the domestic DRAM supply chain at a time when global shortages strain markets. The launch signals a shift toward greater self‑reliance in memory manufacturing and could pressure foreign suppliers to revisit pricing and availability in the region. The move also underscores the urgency for China to secure newer lithography tools to keep pace with global DRAM evolution.
