McVay emphasized keeping Wall discussions private to respect Donald’s situation, noting that the conversation began when the Rams traded for reigning Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett.

Garrett declined to influence Donald’s choice but said the pair could 'do great things' if Donald returns. Donald, who retired in March 2024, leaves as the franchise’s all‑time sack leader with 111 career sacks. The team remains focused on training and monitoring Donald’s recovery, hoping any decision will ultimately trend upward.
