Travis Hunter faster after weight gain

Jacksonville Jaguars' two-way player Travis Hunter reports feeling faster and lighter despite gaining 10 pounds for his second NFL season. Hunter, who spent nine months rehabbing a knee injury that sidelined him for most of his rookie year, achieved a top speed of nearly 23 mph during offseason training. This speed rivals that of NFL record-holders Tyreek Hill and Raheem Mostert.

Initially concerned about the weight gain affecting his agility, Hunter found that dedicated work in the weight room and on the field counteracted any perceived heaviness. Coach Liam Coen expressed amazement at Hunter's increased speed post-injury, noting Hunter's own comment about feeling lighter. Hunter aims to break the 23 mph barrier.

Beyond his physical improvements, Hunter feels more comfortable on both offense and defense, a significant step from his rookie season. He is currently splitting time between cornerback and offensive duties, aligning with the team's plan. Defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile praised Hunter's physicality and dedication during his recovery, highlighting his strong upper body development.
