Atlanta Falcons quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is not overly concerned about a tight back that has kept him from full practice participation early in training camp. Tagovailoa believes the team is exercising caution and that he would likely be ready for a game.

The issue, described as a "flare-up," began last week, though it's a new experience for him. "I think just right now it's just a precaution thing early on in camp, and then we'll work through that," Tagovailoa stated, emphasizing he feels great and enjoys being on the field with his teammates.

On Friday, Tagovailoa engaged in individual drills and a half-speed walk-through but sat out 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 sessions. He is uncertain about when he will rejoin full team activities. Undrafted rookie Jack Strand has been receiving most of the 11-on-11 reps, with veteran Cooper Rush serving as his backup. Michael Penix Jr. also returned after a scheduled day off.

Tagovailoa, who was released by the Miami Dolphins in March and signed a one-year, $1.3 million contract with the Falcons, was a Pro Bowl selection in 2023. He led the league with 4,642 passing yards that season but had 15 interceptions last year, contributing to his departure from Miami.
