The Los Angeles Dodgers placed struggling closer Edwin Diaz on the injured list due to neck inflammation, adding to his injury woes this season. Diaz, acquired in a blockbuster trade, has struggled with a 15.88 ERA and three blown saves since returning from elbow surgery in late July.

Manager Dave Roberts indicated Diaz will undergo imaging on his neck, with the issue becoming apparent during Monday night's game against Colorado. The right-hander gave up three runs in the ninth inning of the Dodgers' 11-2 victory.

Meanwhile, Shohei Ohtani continues progressing toward a mound return, completing another bullpen session of approximately 35 pitches. The four-time MVP, recovering from left knee inflammation and right biceps discomfort, last pitched on July 3 against San Diego.

Ohtani remains dominant when healthy, boasting an 8-2 record with a 1.79 ERA in 14 starts this season while leading the Dodgers with 29 home runs.
