Mikey Lewis Banned Two Matches for Dangerous Contact

Hull KR playmaker Mikey Lewis has been handed a two-match suspension for dangerous contact on Warrington Wolves' Ewan Irwin during their rearranged Round 2 Super League fixture. The incident occurred when Lewis, now playing for Hull KR after returning from a four-match ban for a headbutt in the previous encounter against Warrington, caught Irwin's ankle with his studs while attempting a kick. He was sin-binned and charged with a Grade C offence.

The suspension takes effect from Round 25, meaning Lewis will miss Hull KR's upcoming clashes with Wigan Warriors and Huddersfield Giants, but remains available for the match against Toulouse on Saturday. His return is timed for the final round of the regular season.

Hull KR head coach Willie Peters previously expressed no concern over intent in the original incident, while Warrington boss Sam Burgess described the contact as "very dangerous". It is currently unclear whether Hull KR will appeal the latest ban.

Additionally, Hull KR forward Tevita Pangai Jr faces a separate four-match suspension for late contact on a passer, which could rule him out until the play-offs depending on disciplinary points accumulated earlier in the season.
