Hull KR forward Karl Lawton has been suspended for three matches following a dangerous tackle on Huddersfield Giants player Matty English. The 30-year-old Australian, who joined the Robins this season from NRL side North Queensland Cowboys, received 21 penalty points for a Grade E dangerous contact challenge during the champions' 32-6 victory.

The tackle resulted in Lawton being sin-binned during the match and triggered the automatic suspension along with a fine. The Rugby Football League's match review panel determined the incident warranted the Grade E classification, the most serious category for dangerous contact. Lawton's ban will see him miss crucial fixtures as Hull KR aims to maintain their strong start to the Super League campaign.

Lawton was one of five players sanctioned after round four of Super League. The disciplinary actions highlight the league's strict stance on player safety, with multiple suspensions issued for dangerous tackles across the competition. His absence will test Hull KR's depth as they navigate the early season challenges without one of their key forwards.
