Puso Dithejane opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a shot from just inside the top of the box. The game was paused in the 44th minute due to lightning in the area before resuming after the lengthy delay.

Robert Lewandowski drew a penalty in the 68th minute after a handball by Robin Jansson, converting from the spot to cap the scoring. Chris Brady made three saves for Chicago, helping preserve the victory.

For Orlando, David Brekalo pulled one back in the 52nd minute, redirecting a corner kick played in by Antoine Griezmann. Despite the home effort, Orlando fell to 6-11-3 overall, while the Fire improved to 11-8-2 on the season.
