Cade Cavalli followed up a near no-hitter with another dominant outing, striking out 11 batters over six scoreless innings as the Washington Nationals defeated the Texas Rangers 6-0 at Globe Life Field. The right-hander, who previously struck out 10 in eight scoreless innings against the Cubs, retired his first eight batters via strikeout and threw 58 of 84 pitches for strikes.

Nationals manager Blake Butera praised Cavalli's consistency, noting the difficulty of pitching immediately after a no-hitter bid. Cavalli credited his preparation and daily routine for the success, limiting the Rangers to just three singles and a walk while retiring the final 11 batters he faced.

The performance extended Cavalli's 17-inning scoreless streak, bringing his record to 11-5 with a 2.36 ERA over his last 10 starts. He now has 162 strikeouts, tied for fifth in the National League. Cavalli became only the fourth pitcher in Montreal/Washington franchise history to record consecutive starts with at least six scoreless innings and 10 strikeouts, joining three-time Cy Young winner Max Scherzer in that exclusive company.

Designated hitter Andrés Chaparro contributed a three-run homer, helping secure the victory in front of 40-plus family and friends in attendance.
