The 2026 MLB trade deadline has passed, and analysis is underway regarding the biggest winners and losers of the period. Teams that made significant moves are being highlighted, with some clubs earning praise for their deadline acquisitions. The New York Yankees entered the deadline with roster questions and left fans questioning the absence of a major splashy move. The Boston Red Sox, however, were active, acquiring three-time All-Star catcher Adley Rutschman in a significant deal with the Baltimore Orioles. Rutschman stated he is simply trying to fit in with the surging Red Sox team.

In pitching news, Dodgers catcher Dalton Rushing has a slight tear in the UCL of his right elbow, according to follow-up tests. Padres right-handed pitcher Nick Pivetta exited his first rehab outing Tuesday with what San Diego manager Craig Stammen described as minor tightness in his right elbow. Blue Jays pitcher Trey Yesavage lasted only two innings Tuesday night before leaving his start against the Houston Astros due to left knee discomfort. Nationals All-Star outfielder James Wood was placed on the 10-day injured list after suffering a left oblique strain while batting Monday night against the Phillies.
