Apple’s upcoming iOS 27 rolls out fresh tweaks to its Find My app, set for a public beta in July and a September release. Among the changes is a new Hide Location switch that lets users pause sharing with selected contacts for up to a day. The move caters to discreet moments like surprise parties today.

Find My also introduces custom duration settings, replacing the three fixed windows of earlier iOS versions. Users can now elect a period ranging from 15 minutes to 30 days, specifying hours, minutes, or an exact expiration timestamp. This granularity gives families and coworkers tighter control over location visibility in both personal and professional contexts.

The update also expands landscape mode across more built‑in iPhone apps, including Find My. Turning the device sideways unlocks a wider view, provided Portrait Orientation Lock is off. The change hints at future hardware plans, such as a foldable or Ultra‑style iPhone that would benefit from landscape‑friendly interfaces for both casual scrolling and detailed map navigation.

With iOS 27’s beta now live, developers can test these features ahead of the public rollout. Users will experience a more private, customizable, and versatile Find My experience once the update ships. The enhancements reinforce Apple’s focus on user control and prepare the ecosystem for next‑generation device formats enhancing security while simplifying everyday location sharing.
